Meet Dr. Todd

I was born in San Francisco, CA, and grew up in the beautiful coastal town of Pacifica, CA. Pacifica is located just south of San Francisco. Some of the activities I enjoyed included motorcycles, surfing, fishing, hiking, and camping. After graduating high school in 1973 I held several jobs that included working at a local golf course restaurant and later in an upholstery shop in San Mateo. I also spent two years working at a gold mine on the Yuba River just above Nevada City. It was during the time at the Jolly BoyS Mining Company that my direction in life would change.

In 1976 I was injured in a serious motorcycle accident in Lake County. I was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with 5 fractured vertebra in my lower back. After a few days the neuro-surgeon gave me the ‘good news / bad news’ talk where he told me I had no nerve damage but my spine was a bit twisted and that I should see a Chiropractor to adjust my lower back into proper alignment. I had been to a Chiropractor in the past to treat an upper back sprain-strain injury while working at the gold mine. After about 4 months I was ready to see the same Chiropractor I saw before. On several visits he would ask me what I wanted to do as a career. He suggested that I look into the Chiropractic profession. I was very impressed with how he fixed my back and he told me that a new Chiropractic College was opening up in Hayward, CA, in the East Bay.

Chiropractic

In 1977 I enrolled in Contra Costa College to take the required prerequisite science classes with some additional courses of biology and chemistry in San Francisco. By the summer of 1978 I was able to start the Chiropractic program at Pacific States Chiropractic College. By the time I graduated in 1982 the College had merged with Life Chiropractic College in Georgia to become Life Chiropractic College – West. Being a new school there were no student loans of any kind. I am very grateful to my parents who funded my whole education. After graduating from Life Chiropractic College - West I opened a 15 year private practice in the city of Lakeport, CA. Then in 1997 I sold the practice and moved to Yuba City. I have 2 grown children, Vanessa and David, and 4 grandsons – Lukas, Jaxon, Tristan, and Lincoln.
